The list of Emmy nominations 2019 was announced last Tuesday, and there were some surprises.
Despite all the fans’ negative feedback on Game of Throne‘s final season, the show just set another groundbreaking record at the Emmy Awards. Throughout the series, GoT has gathered a total of 42 Emmy wins – settling the show as the most Emmy-winning primetime series in history.
Now, with 32 nominations, Game of Thrones sets a new record: most nominations earned in a single year by any drama series.
Another well deserving show (which we absolutely love) also made the cut into the Emmy nominations 2019. This is us was nominated to the category of ‘Outstanding Drama Series’, whereas Chris Sullivan was nominated for ‘Outstanding supporting Actor in a Drama Series’.
Chris Sullivan plays ‘Toby’ in the series – an overweight bipolar man who struggles to fight his disease while keeping his wife ‘Kate’ “above water” at all times. He’s certainly kept up to his immensely difficult part so this nomination couldn’t be more deserving.
