Veganism has been increasing in popularity and support, but have you heard of vegan makeup?
Being vegan means abstaining yourself from consuming animal products. Most people associate this to eating habits, but this is actually only one component of the movement. People who abstain from eating any animal meat and animal derived products (eg. eggs) are called Dietary vegans.
There are countless arguments to become a vegan – and countless more against it. Nonetheless, that is not our discussion point here. To see more about the benefits of veganism you can visit our dedicated post here.
Ethical vegans, extend the vegan philosophy well beyond their eating habits…
If you are an ethical vegan, then your everyday choices aren’t limited just in your eating habits. You’ll probably never wear any leather items, nor will you use any brands that test their products on animals.
… and now, there is vegan makeup!
After entering the fashion world, with big brands like Adidas creating their own vegan sneakers, the vegan movement has extended to beauty brands. For the most conscious ladies out there, there are now many options when it comes to vegan makeup.
We’ve narrowed them down to our top 3!

Based in Toronto, Canada, Cover FX develops and fabricates foundation makeup, skin care products and cover up cosmetics.
The company has made its mission to match every skin tone with the perfect makeup, but it didn’t actually start off like that. Cover fX had, at its roots, the mission to help patients with skin conditions. Only later, this “giving back to the community” ideology grew into the big successful beauty company we all know today.
With the exception of MintTint FX and MintGlaze FX, the entire range of Cover FX’s products is cruelty-free and vegan.
2. INIKA
INIKA ia an Australian company that started of in Sydney in 2006. The company has since gone globally recognized as a trusted go-to brand for organic and natural makeup.
The brand was born out of the conscious minds of customers, who were already removing harmful chemicals from their everyday lives. When it came to makeup, there was no real healthy alternative.
Now, INIKA is among the most popular vegan makeup brands in the world,
