Here’s everything we know about the Game of Thrones season finale.

What is the release date?

Game of Thrones season 8 Trailer

I mean, which fan didn’t just get insanely excited with this trailer? It’s all about building momentum towards the final season. The battle between the living and the dead promises to throw any previous wars out of proportion – Battle of the Bastards included.

But what did this trailer revealed?  The trailer starts with an Arya Stark running away, apparently injured, and then holding a piece of dragon glass. Jon and Daenerys travel together, fueling expectation that we might just see Jon flying his father’s dragon. Will they end up ruling The 7 Kingdoms together?

How many episodes does the season have?

The final 13 episodes of Game of Thrones have been split into two seasons. This last one will consist of only 6 episodes. While most of us wished for more, we were happy to hear these last few episodes have the highest average length of the series – 68 minutes and 20 seconds,

HBO has confirmed that the first four episodes will have 54, 58, 60 and 78 minutes, respectively. The last two, however, will run for 80minutes each.

“Even though it’s six episodes, it was nearly a full year in Belfast either prepping it or shooting it,” said Benioff. “It’s quite extraordinary what the crew and the actors created, and I think when people see it they’ll understand why it took so long.”

What past season moments should be reviewed before the finale?

We’ve tried (and failed, admittedly) to narrow it down to 1 per season, and still, the feeling is that so much awesomeness is left behind.

While some fans made sure to relive the whole series before the season 8 premiere, we know this won’t probably be the case for the busiest viewer. Hence, we leave you with this.
